The dramaturgy of the festival in 2008 is oriented towards the musical life in the Visegrad Region from the Middle Ages through to the Vienna Congress held 1814-1815. The theme “Early Music from Visegrad” will be treated at several levels: we will present Czech-Slovak-Polish-Hungarian composers, map out the musical life in the aforementioned capital cities of Buda, Prague, Bratislava and Krakow or Warsaw, focus on the musical centres outside the capital cities, including monasteries, and revitalise treasures from private and public collections.

A pair of four-month-old polar bear cubs in Brno zoo are doing well, with their mother devotedly caring for them. Their mother provides all the necessary care, without batting an eyelid at the presence of people. The twins release outdoors was the last step requiring caution. The outdoor enclosure could be dangerous to the cubs, in view of the steep rocks above the pool, but at the most dangerous places the keepers laid straw for the cubs to "land" softly.
The cubs have already tried beef, horse-meat and fish, and although one still has problems walking, it is growing stronger every day and will soon catch up with its sibling.
My picture is from 9 April, 2008.

If you don´t know what MotoGP is then it was a mistake to click on this link. MotoGP is currently the most exciting form of motorised sport in the world, forget cars of any kind and the boring F1! The MotoGP "circus" comes to Brno in the third week of August every year to race on the new(ish) automotodrom to the west of the city near Rosice. The area quickly fills with visitors from all across Europe who all come to watch the racing at this exciting track. As well as having a track that makes the riders work hard, for westerners the ticket price is very cheap, the beer is very cheap. Beer, food, shades, sun hat and something to sit on.
In order to find reasonable accommodation, please contact me as early as possible, preferrably in January.
